We spent the our New Years’ Eve celebrating in central Oregon. Enjoying great company and pink champagne. I love a casual affair with great company.
We woke up bright and early on New Year’s Day for some adventuring. We stayed right by Lake Billy Chinook so a quick pit stop at the view point was first on the agenda. Short drive later we were hiking Smith Rock. The temperature was 18 degrees. I’m not sure how we survived but the beers later were definitely earned.
Sunday morning we packed up early to head home. Snowing in central Oregon and freezing rain in Portland made for some interesting travel plans.
Get away for four days was exactly what I needed mentally. I love the holidays but they drain me. Actually this is the first year I’ve really felt drained from the holidays. I absolutely love ending the years as we do but this year stretched me.
Now let’s see if I continue using this place for my thoughts in 2016 on a more consistent level.
